Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico
After a drink of fresh coconut milk we headed for the coast

The road to San Francisco was longer and rougher than we had considered it was going to be,we were right in the rural countryside of mexico travelling through small villages.

By the time we could see the coast everyone had had quite had enough.

The temperature was hot and sultry the surrounding area was a tropical lush jungle. We took a break in a beach bar and considered our options. San Francisco was a small village surrounding the bar and beach In amongst mangrove and palm trees. The accommodation was rooms rather than hotels we decide to move on to Sayulita, next bay south along the coast as this had been recommended by a few people. We ride on humidity building and so were the storm clouds, we arrived just before the rain fortunately. As we rode down the cobbled street towards the beach there did not appear to be the resort hotels we feared.

Comments written in LP. This bohemian little seaside village north of Puerto Vallarta in the Pacific state of Nayarit used to be the province of a small group of in-the-know surf buffs who gathered for the dependably good north swell from December through April. But that’s beginning to change as travelers from all the over the world discover the town’s charms. Visit while Sayulita is still low-key, all unspoiled beaches, charmingly rustic fish restaurants on the sand and quirky cafes and boutiques.

First impressions are great not at all commercialised, after a short ride round Marion sees a sign for a hotel and bungalow we go to investigate. Happy to show us the rooms we have a few options bit pricier than other places in Mexico, we are yet to find the small paradise fishing villages with accommodation for a few bucks that is written so much about. However this is lovely, Tom for certain was not getting back on the bike. We park the bike in the garden.

After a bit of negotiation over rooms upstairs down stairs small or large we are in. Our room has a patio with sofas to lounge on when the heat and humidity gets too much as well as a living room inside. Each room or bungalow is set amongst palms and lush vegetation giving a perfect tropical feel. I am beginning to understand why some people find places in Central America and don't move on.

We asked advice where to go for dinner and ignored it.......

Went to a Mexican restaurant which appeared to have a great atmosphere from outside found us a table upstairs but next to a large open window over looking the town square. Then the rain started water running down the street thunder and the most amazing lightening. Dinner ordered we watched the storm. Although they served great Margaritas we only got 3 of our 4 meals served, we waited but it never arrived in the end we all shared our meals.
Paying the bill was the next challenge no cards only cash all and all not a great experience.

Storm still raging out at sea lightening amazing.
