Not normally easily beaten but......

Londonderry, Vermont, United States
Weather still grey and wet this hurricane is certainly hanging around. We had just about dried out from yesterday.

Our route takes us through the White mountains so the chance to ride up Mount Washington and see the amazing view was our plan. Unfortunately due to high winds they were restricting the traffic they said we could go but did not advise it and the top was closed. Of course we go.

Windy was an understatement trees were falling one blocking the road just after we passed. Above the tree line we were in the cloud and could see nothing, the wind was so strong Tom decided to turn back, it must have been bad.

Not to be completely beaten we also decide to hike to Flume Gorge an exhausting two mile loop in our bike gear. The boardwalk puts you right above the gorge amongst the flowers ferns.

Our ritual picnic was in a peaceful little spot at the top of the gorge, quiet until all the other visitor decided to join us.

Arrived at Swiss Inn late, it is better than it looks.
