San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico
First thing Tom moves the bike and then has a cappuccino!!!!!

The city is busy, the narrow streets full of a traffic and people selling their wares which creates quite a buzz. Sit any where for a while and you are asked to either have your shoes polished or to buy some embroidery. Many of the sellers are cheeky children trying to extract some coins from us which often worked.

The city is very Spanish in its influence narrow cobblestone streets red clay tile roofs, balconies with flowers. Walls painted in various colours soft oranges and reds which have been very typical in Mexico.

We go for a wander, every day is market day actually except Sunday. Northern part of the city is one continuous market stall selling everything from flip flops to chickens. Food and fruit stalls mingled in with everyday home wear. I was conscience of taking photos as there were no other tourists around but no one seemed bothered so I got a few.

Afternoon became very chilly and as the sun set it started raining. Not just one or two drops a monsoon everywhere very quickly flooded the roads were rivers of water. As true Brits we still went to dinner hat and coat in hand we splashed up the road 100 yards we were soaked through. Finding a restaurant was tricky many closed finally came across a restaurant part of a hotel lovely meal for all.
Thunder and lightening continued until the early hours along with the music from the square.
