Last day in Guatemala

Chiquimula, Chiquimula, Guatemala
We leave the relative peace and quiet of Antigua to venture in to the rest of Guatemala.
How different could it be.

It noisy, music cars trucks buses. On the road its hectic, we absorbed more diesel fumes today than we have in all the trip. The truck drivers sit so close behind you they fill your mirrors, the chicken buses are the same.

The people are really friendly and helpful and smile and laugh more than the Mexicans.

Traveling on the main road is just a race, travelling through Guatemala City was just a diesel filled jam made worse by me missing the turn off twice.

Lots of landslides block the road probably caused by the recent earthquake.
160 miles takes all day.

Tonight we stay in a Q150 (£15) hotel, it's clean but no hot water or air con we are on a crossroads and the windows don't fit so I'm sleeping with my ear plugs in.
Tomorrow Honduras
