Granada, Granada, Nicaragua
Still very humid and grey sky's our gear has not dried, so faced with a damp and smelly start Lindsay and Marion decide to stay put to have easy access to the KTM dealer in the morning. We move on to Granada. Reserved a hotel on booking.com which turned out to be damp and no parking. Once in the square we are recommended hotel plaza Colon lovely. Carlos on the front desk could not have been more helpful, giving directions sorting laundry, drinks and most important secure parking. $95 bit pricy but after the last few days it was what we needed.
Granada is an interesting Colonial town/city. Very picturesque buildings painted warm colours, Cathedral dominates the square or park central. It seems many people use this as a base to explore the surrounding country side particularly volcano Mombacho

Initial impressions are that Nicaragua is more affluent, the roads are in better shape, few potholes and painted lines, the houses appear in better shape. In Granada there are still guards in hotels and banks but they only carry hand guns not pump action shotguns, even the guy guarding the car park where the bike is has a gun.

Went to bike this morning and found the pannier (the one that had taken the knocks in the falls) had leaked during the rainstorm and had a centimetre of water in the bottom, just enough to soak some of our travel and insurance documents.
