Outing on a bus

Quepos, Puntarenas, Costa Rica
We are on the beach again which generally means a lazy day. We catch some rays early on, this beach is really lovely, the sand can not be described as white however with the palm trees and jungle as a back drop, when the sun is shining the sea is turquoise it is pretty near to perfect. The beach is crescent shaped end runs into the Manuel Antonio national park the other turns in to cliffs and a few private coves. The sun is now high in the sky and the temperature is rising fast. Determined not to over do the sun we all get the local bus (yes all including Tom) to Quepos. Usual shopping lists bank, hair cuts and other bits and bobs. I tried to buy a new SD card which was so problematic, I am still at a loss why. I had been so long that Tom thought I had been captured by white slavers and came bounding into the office I was waiting in much to the amusement of the others also waiting. I gave up in the end. Weather getting very dark we are waiting for the bus and so not to get wet we find a Mexican restaurant to while a few hours away.
Still raining we go for dinner at El Avion this is a qwerky place has a C-123 plane which was part of one of the biggest scandals in the 80's Iran Contra affair. A network of arm sales to Iran that was supposed to win the release of hostages in Lebanon and raise money to fund Nicaraguan counter revolutionary fighters (Contras). When one of the planes was shot down the story was out. Some will remember the weeks of TV coverage showing Oliver North evidence.
The fuselage was shipped via ferry as it was 10 inches too wide for the antiquated Chiquita Banana railroad bridges! After hauling seven sections up the Manuel Antonio hill, the C-123 finally found its current cliff-side resting-place.
Quite a story and a great restaurant.
On our return from the restaurant we tell the taxi driver that we will go zip lining in the morning, he suddenly burst out laughing and reversed the car a speed back up the road shouting something in Spanish which we did not understand hahaha. When he stopped he pointed to the sky, hanging from a rope was an object slightly bemused as to why he would do this we laughed and agreed yes ziplining, only to see this object slowly turn to face us. It was a very wet Sloth climbing along the rope.
