Today we were all set to get flights booked and hotels for us to fly to Colombia. Marian was still holding out for the ferry understandably as this option is a fraction of the cost. It had been a real disappointment when the ferry was cancelled with out much of a reason so it was hoped the problem may get resolved. The ferry also felt like it was still part of the adventure where flying seems like cheating although it is the only way.

Tom and Lindsay took the bikes to the dealers to try and get some work done. Marian and I had a lovely relaxing breakfast. 
 
Tom - up early and headed to BMW dealer to meet up with Emilio Garcia the Service Manager, really nice guy and with his little English and my smaller Spanish we manage to find out he hasn't got the parts and it will take up to forty days to get them, this is just a bloody rubber seal. Lots of smiles but nothing works fast, frustrated I return to Lindsay who is waiting to find his radiator is leaking so he is as pissed off as I am.

The guys returned having had quite a frustrating morning and unfortunately bike still not fixed.

We all gathered for coffee, Tom checked his email amazingly there was one from Isabel explaining good news bikes could still use the ferry. This put us is a real predicament we had already arranged the shipping however not paid the cost difference is so large we really have to pursue this way of leaving. However we are missing a lot of exit documents the procedure to get these seems complicated a beauracratic. Tom calls Isobel but can not speak to her until 2pm we wait. Frustration is building for all as we are not in control of this situation and can really do nothing. There were numerous conversations about how we should get the exit documents how this would effect shipping if this became still our only path of exit. 3 hours passed and Tom eventually managed to get hold of Isobel. Yes indeed the ferry was running and taking bikes, there was a problem with the deck hence not cars. They needed the exit permit to book and 2 days for immigration to clear everyone to exit. The little glimmer of hope just extinguished its self. The ferry is leaving tomorrow, Isobel checked to see if the documentation could be fast tracked not a chance. We wait until Monday for the next ferry or ship the bikes tomorrow.

We book the flights and hotel.
