Bogota, Cundinamarca, Colombia
Yesterday we were supposed to pick up the bikes but due to technical difficulties the flight was cancelled until today.
We have read this happens a lot.
Lindsay managed to find the agent for Hiedenau tyres so we headed of to find him in a taxi.
He was a really nice guy and showed us his bike a GS adventurer and had done many trips around the world. 250 dollars later we carried out a new rear tyre which should get us to Australia.
The rest of the day was spent trying to get confirmation that the parts were in to fix my leaking rear bearing at the BMW dealer.

Up early and off to the airport to get the bikes, we met the shippers agent and the usual process started, queues forms waiting. What was different no rain and modern offices, what wasn't different was the time it takes but 3 and half our later and after photos with the guys who helped us we headed out of the gates, in South AMERICA.

Bogota traffic is absolutely bonkers with a lot of bikes weaving in and out of the traffic queues, we were heading for the KTM dealer, new back tyre fitted and repair to leaking radiator BMW dealer, new tyre fitted and new rear wheel bearing seal.
After some filtering and a slight kiss with an old VW beetle we found the dealer and I left Lindsay and headed for BMW. They seems to be expecting me and the bike was whisked away.,
Three hours later service manager Emilio Garcia introduced himself and apologised for delay and bike would be ready soon. He gave me a complementary oil filter for my delay. An hour later I was on my way into the pouring rain
Mean while back at the ranch Marian perseved to load the maps on to their GPS I investigate places to go. Too much starring at a screen we decided to go out. Candaleria Old city looked a good place to start. We negotiated a taxi to take us wait while we walked around them bring us back. Journey was 45 min each way, hour walk around the driver waited.
Candelaria is a mix of old and new, some lovingly restored other left to rot. Shanty towns cling perilously to the hill side.
