Pasto, Nariño, Colombia
An agreed breakfast time of 7:30 was difficult for Tracy to make and we had a lot of packing due to drying out the first aid bag again and some clothes from the leaking panniers.
The planned early start started at 10 and Despite the weather forecast we headed out for Pasto in sunshine, my damp socks bungyed onto the bag drying nicely.

Following the pan American the scenery is amazing the road good except when road works turn the road to dirt and mud.

Whenever we stop for a drink the people are friendly and want to talk, the solders come and try their English and look at the bikes. this is one of the best rides we have had.

We arrive in Pasto just as the afternoon rain starts and get into our hotel dry, this is an unusual event and as we are congratulating ourselves with a beer the owner of the hotel informs us there is a petrol shortage and there will be no more deliveries until next week, we had better get into the queue.
Gear back on we get back onto the bikes in the rain and get to the petrol station fortunately we are waived into a bike line and get filled up pretty quickly and return to the hotel gear wet as usual.

Finally established over dinner and with the aid of Google that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid finally got to Bolivia via Argentina after taking a boat from New York. It's questions like this that become important when your riding round the world.
