Iguanas in the park

Guayaquil, Guayas, Ecuador
Ride in between the salt pans and the beach first today, very windy we are all soon covered in a layer of salt. This would be beautiful if it was not so barren and everything else so drab and devoid of colour, this seem to accentuate the poverty. Which is also a bit ironic as they are pumping oil and gas all along the coast here.

The ride was not long we are soon on the outskirts of Guayaquil our hotel is in the centre, near a revitalised river board walk (Malecon) and a number of historic buildings. Once checked in we go for a walk along the Malecon and then to the cathedral park.

The park has a number of huge bronze sculptures wild boars fighting and the highlight is the Iguanas living in the trees.
