Cuenca, Ecuador
The sun is shining we are off to the mountains via National Park Caias.
After leaving the city we start climbing very quickly and are soon at 10000ft and in the clouds
Complete white out in places and it is freezing. The road continues to wind higher we play chase with the army who are transporting rocket launchers across the park who over take us each time we stop.
What little of the land scape we can see is barren and rocky with deep sharp valleys dropping in front of us.
We stop at a small coffee shop to warm up and have a most peculiar coffee not sure what the milk was from. (tom - Llama ) It had an immediate effect on me!!!
As we come out of the cloud we see Llamas on the road side.
We head over the pass then down into Cuenca.
Arriving at the hostel in the middle of town there appeared to be no where to park the bikes. The manager came out opened the doors and we rode the bike through the dining room where guests we enjoying late sunday lunch and parked the bikes in the breakfast room, no problemo!
