Walk to Sun Gate

Aguas Calientes, Cuzco, Peru
We are fortunately to have a 2nd day ticket for the citadel, the weather is still grey and clouds hang tight over the mountains.

We hike to the Sun Gate for the hope of that view back over the Citadel. It is a tough walk as we have done nothing for nearly 6 months and we notice it. However we pace our selves and are rewarded with glimpses back over the city. The first view that hikers get who are finishing the Inca Trail wonderful.

In the afternoon we thought it was brightening up a bit we did not feel like leaving so knowing little about the Incas we hired a guide to show us round and explain what was known about the place.

Unfortunately it started to rain as always in the rain forest it was pretty torrential. This how it is and umbrella in hand our guide continued.

Even the Llamas went in doors.
