Uyuni, Departamento Autónomo de , Bolivia
The plan today had been to find the fish island and the volcano but first we need fuel. In all the commotion yesterday it slipped everyone's mind that we had not refuelled since arriving in Potosi.

Lindsay and I got on the bikes and rode into the village the petrol station had problems with the pumps so could not pump fuel, faced with the choice of ride into Uyuni in the hope of getting fuel on a sunday Bit of a problem.

Only choice is to go out to the lake where the salt is white. As we are saddling up so the weather closes in and guess what it starts to rain. We head for the largest bit of blue sky we can see. The salt flats are incredible as far as the eye can see white octagonal shapes have formed on the ground as the salt crystallises in the sun.

But also the area is so vast you can see the weather coming for miles we were right in between 2 large systems one having loads of thunder and lightening. Not to be put off we head further out the track we are on just goes for mile after mile we hardly see another vehicle. Incredible place as the mountains in the distance appear to be floating above the flats.
