Taking stock

Calama, Antofagasta, Chile
After some web searches and a response from a mail sent to the Touratech guy we met in Lima we identified a bike shop about 1 kilometre from the hotel.

After finding the mechanic a discussion followed using google translate.

He said he could fix bearing in a couple of days but first of all he spent 30 minutes cleaning all the salt and mud off the bike which he said killed a bike. After a ride around the block the vibration seemed less so I decided to get the work done at the BMW dealer in Antofagasta after we had been to see the Dakar in Iquique..

Lindsay also had his bike cleaned but the ripped fork seals could not be fixed at this shop.

This was a great bike shop they even walked me down to a car shop to get a replacement HD bulb for my headlight.
