Bike collected by BMW

Antofagasta, Antofagasta, Chile
Tom started ringing early to try and get some help. Other guests in the hotel offered their advice one was to throw the bike in to the sea"helpful".
Sometime after 10am someone answered the phone at BWM and agreed to come straight down to the hotel to take a look. Great something is happening.
10 minutes later a guy arrived on a bike and introduced himself at Rodger, he organised a truck and 30 minutes later it arrived and we dragged the bike onto it strapped it down. I went with the bike to the dealer. They said they would take a look and I was to return later and they would let me know what needed doing.

Lindsay and Marian made tracks towards las serana as Lindsay had his bike booked into the dealer there for new fork seals and chain and sprocket. The salt flats and ride from Uyuni to Calamara had really taken it out of both bikes.

Returning to the dealer (it's a long walk) the discussion was that the final drive had completely seized, it was unlikely it could be repaired so a replacement was the best option. While we were discussing this I was introduced to Fransisco who is the general manager for BMW in Chile, he is also English which made things a lot easier.
New drive would take 4 weeks to arrive, but they could take a drive off a used bike and send it up from Santiago in a couple of days. We agreed to meet tomorrow to review the situation.

Nothing more to be done but at least something is happening
