400 miles @ 50mph ahhhhhh

Buenos Aires, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos, Argentina
Friday 13th should have been like every other day. However when we arrived late last night there was the hint of a problem with the bike. Each time we had stopped it had been more difficult to restart and there was a new vibration on the back which was concerning.
Tom checked it out with the hope that it had just been the road but no it seems there is another problem with the back wheel bearing. What too do, the nearest BMW garage is in Buenos Aires do we ride and hope to get there or get a truck

We ride. Well once we get some cash which always is a problem, Argentina does not like British credit or debit cards. 6 banks later we ring HSBC to see what the problem is. Nothing they tell us try again .No help at all . We find a Santander Bank fortunately works.

Tom checked the bike it did not fix itself over night. We have a long way to go,if we are to be in BA to night.

The ride was anxious but OK. Not overly interesting area to ride through although we did notice after it was too late that the gps had routed us the long way
The road to BA is a mess so many trucks must use it that you can see the grooves worn in to the tarmac. The one time we could do with a smooth ride it is not possible. 400 miles is seeming a very long way. The weather is great, very sunny reasonably warm. At least the surrounding have changed to farm land and great stretches of water with loads of water fowl. We keep saying we should get an app to identify these.
Only able to stop at gas stations in case we can not restart this was a bit of a ride.

Rode in to BA as the sun was setting the traffic really busy but we eventually make it.

Tom - a long ride, I keep speed at about 50mph concerned that if the rear bearing seizes again like it did at Antofagasta or the drive shaft gives up at least i have chance of controlling the bike.
Every knock vibration or bump is a concern and I wondered if I had made the right decision to keep riding or should we have played safe and got a truck to get us to BA. We stop fairly often and I check if the rear drive is getting hot, seems OK but its slow progress along bumpy roads and I'm also worried when i stop the bike can i get a neutral light on so i can start the bike.

Finally arrived into BA in heavy traffic, 3 lane motorway trying to keep on the inside lane so if anything happens i can get out of the way of the crazy traffic.

We pull up outside the hotel its dark, i am completely wasted, more from the worry we were going to break down in the middle of nowhere than the 400miles at 50 mph. We see Lindsay and Marion sitting in the restaurant drop everything and join them for a well deserved beer.
The relief of making it was wonderful but it takes a few beers to wind down.
