Lots to do

Buenos Aires, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos, Argentina
Paper work for the bike has to be sorted out today and everything paid for. The reason for needing american dollars shipping the bike cost a lot less if paid in $us.

Went down to shippers office Joerg Prudhomme and got things sorted with him. Great guy very helpful with his daughter as translator.

After many attempts to change our flights via internet Tracy found the local office and after a short discussion they changed the flight to a week earlier, great news. We had to pay the local taxes about £250 so leaving Tracy as hostage I went to Florida street to exchange some dollars for pesos to pay.

This is a strange process for us, US dollars are worth about 35% more on the blue market then official exchange rate, so changing these saved us a lot of dosh. The guys are standing in the street shouting Cambio,Cambio, you pick one you hope you can trust, he takes you to a shop where the boss agrees the rate takes your money and gives you many more Pesos for your dollar than you would get at the banks. The boss is usually accompanied by a couple of big guys who sit by the door smiling.

After the exchange got back paid for the flights and got my wife back.

Time to get my old faithful bike ready for his final ride in South America, he would not make it RTW but at least got back with me for the Dakar again after the first visit in 2009.

We were set to go
