Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia
Tom - After a few calls to Josh finally the bike has cleared customs and can be clloected fro the shippers, i jump in a taxi and find the bike, stlli on the crate but the packing removed. Handing over the Aus$1800, (lindsy cleared the bike himself for a lot less but no good winging now) I start unpacking it off the crate after some pushing and shoving its free.
I have never seen this bike running or rode it until now and its been raining and the roads are wet so i take my time getting everything ready before I leave. I push it outside the warehouse connect the GPS press the start switch and we are off. It feels light and smooth compared to the old guy and the throttle is so much smother, riding position is slightly different but ill soon get used to it.
Arrive at hotel about 2:00pm and feeling a bit bolshy because parking is difficult i park in the taxi area. We have to pack all our stuff on a new bike with taxis pipping and waving but bollocks to them. The concierge comes out, His name is Dean, he has been talking to Tracy and is a traveller so he waves the taxis off and stands guard while we pack.

In the end i complain again about how much bloody stuff we are carrrying strap it on like a gipsy caravan and we ride out sweaty and hot, at last we are on our way again.

At last we can collect the bike Tom went off to the airport I did a few chores. Posted some items home photos etc and purchased a phone SIM card. Checked out at 1pm and waited. Eventually Tom plus bike arrive, its late in the day and the hotel we are at us full so we need to move thought we could ride for a while and find something on the way.
We needed to pack up first so out side the hotel on the taxi rank we try to fit everything in.

Tempers fraid we strap the last few things on and rode towards Bondi a must do before leaving Sydney. Everything felt a little strange, things on the bike where familiar in an unfamiliar way.

It was a beautiful afternoon at Bondi people were still on the beach and swimmers playing in the surf. It struck me how small the beach was. I'm not sure what I was expecting thinking about it I have never seen any photos. We had a drink at the beach cafe and set off again in the late afternoon sun.
The ride takes us through the Royal National Park, the 2nd oldest park in the world. Beautiful sub tropical rainforest mixes with coastal scrub where in the late afternoon sunshine you could smell the heavy scent coming from the eucalyptus trees.
The Princes Highway becomes the Grand Pacific Drive which skirts literally round the coast line with a huge project which has built the road out on stilts. the sun is setting so we need to push on, no accommodation booked so we are on the look out. Lots of the sights are off the highway which would means a detour no time put it on the list.

It is dark when we arrive in Wollongong we do a few circuits of the town before we find anything. Novotel $220 no deal. We ride on just on the outskirts is a BW they will do a deal $180 but there is a restaurant. We have to order before we get out of our bike gear and then rush back to check in.
