Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia
First thing we leave the motel in search of a coffee we did not have far to go as the town centre had a few places to choose from. Tom got his eggs so all is good, we leave Myrtleford in the rain fortunately it did not last long. The road to Echuca was along the river valley along huge fields.

We stop for a sandwich the town is famous as being a stop on the Murray river for people holidaying on house boats. It has a lovely historic centre where you can take trips on a paddle steamer up river or a stage coach ride. They have kept the original Victorian architecture the Main Street is lined with small shops which have large veranda style walk ways in front and balconies above all edged with lace like iron work, giving it as feel of the US Wild West and the Deep South.
The scenery continued flat and agricultural with a few signs of vineyards. A lovely if not stunning ride, it finished in beautiful sunshine however still a little cool but dry.

We arrive in Swan Hill about 6pm.

A more modern functional town but with all the amenities. We check in Jane Eliza motor inn we were told it was good we were early as they could shut the gate and go. well at least it would be secure. Next we see a van towing a smashed up stock car has driven in the back way apparently it was race night.

Walk down the high street for dinner in the local pub, again just getting served as all shuts early.
