Less we forget - Anzac Day

It is interesting how other countries handle their memorial or celebration days. We have seen public holidays through different countries over the last few months. Here we are in Australia for Anzac Day 100 years after the campaign in Turkey. Like in several other countries particularly here New Zealand and Turkey a lot of time has been put into coordinating the events commemorating the various events that took place 100 years ago. Anzac Day is a day most Australians make a point of remembering those who gave their lives for their country. Most places close shops schools petrol stations etc all close as a mark of respect. They seem nationally to be far more proud of their Armed services than us in Europe.

It is another beautiful day we try to go to town to get a coffee but are warned a lot of roads are closed due to the parade. We arrive just as those taking part in the parade start lining up. We park the bike in a shop car park and go in seach of a coffee. Not too difficult partly because the Auzzies rate a good cup of coffee as extremely important so it's readily available.
