Golden sand palm trees the waves lapping along the shore. It's morning not a soul in sight. This beach (mission Beach) is paradise. Not a soul has walked along the sand before us so the sand lays undisturbed
Our hotel has said no hurry with the check out so we can have breakfast without a rush.
Town of Mission beach is small basically 2 resorts either end of the beach and a few bars and restaurants in between. We find one open for breakfast and sit watching the world go by.
Time to go, temperature already too warm for riding gear but never mind. We follow the rest of the Cassowary highway still no sight of the elusive bird think we will have to go to a zoo.
The scenery slowly gets more interesting still loads of sugar cane fields but the Queensland highlands get closer as we get nearer to Cairns.
Plan today is check in and then see if we can find a trip out to the reef.
