Oh no a creek not once but twice

Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia
Market day in town Tom was itching to get off but conceded an hour to the market. Larger than I thought craft stalls and bricked brack artist showing their work
Breakfast then we set off to see Daintree rainforest a must for everyone if you make it this far. We had been told about the gravel road the ferry, a creek crossing and of course the crocs. Once you get to Cape Tribulation the Bloomfield trail starts follows the coastline up and down. The fact that it is 4wd only I think made it more appealing to Tom. The road winds it self through swap land and rain forest until you get to Daintree and the river. The ferry takes about 20 minutes and goes backwards and forwards all day.
Just after Cape tribulation the road ends and the gravel Bloomfield Way starts, from time to time you get glimpses of the turquoise sea below as the road climbs through the forest. We cross a few dry creeks and flood ways then get to Emugene Creek. Tom says you walk across I can see how deep it is. I dutifully just do it.?..... What did I say yesterday.
This creek was knee deep in the middle at least it was warm, there was a track to one side which I told Tom about. There was a car waiting for us , I thought to cross to the other side. Actually I realise now they were waiting to watch the fun of vehicles crossing, which we provide. I wade across Tom follows 3/4 of the way not on the track I had mentioned, now he is stuck. I'm on the other side by this time the guy waiting tells me "there's crocs in there you know!...." Would you like me to hold your bag while you go back and help. Ha ha.. Should have asked him to take some photos.

Fortunately another 4 WD is waiting coming the same way as us, the driver gets out and wades across to give a push. Tom clears a few boulders out the way gets back on and with 2 of us at the back we push. Yes made it. The other side at the bank is actually deeper than the middle as vehicles have dug in as they hit the steep incline of the bank. We let the 4WD pass, I climb back on having emptied my boots we carry on up. Really steep incline this time. Fortunately the road is dry but it has deep gouges where the water runs during a storm. Added difficulty of following the 4 WD with all the dust.3 more creek crossing only one I need to get off. The 4wd pull of at a beach site we continue to bump along until we come to a huge dry creek bed as far a we can see are boulders fortunately no water. Tom does a reccie this time. Not sure how far we have to go before Tarmac we turn back. So 3 creek crossings 1 I have to wade across then a repeat of the river. The track is really steep this time into the crossing Tom has a little look and gives it ago. I think if we look at the photos he gets stuck in exactly the same place as going. This time two people swimming in the creek help to push. We get out with a bit more dignity but just as wet.

At least by going back we get a chance to see the beach at Cape Trib which is beautiful. white sand rain forest right up to the waterline. As the tide was far out you could of walked. But as there was a huge yellow sign reminding us of Crocs among other dangers we gave it a miss took a few photos and left to find a drink. (Non alcoholic ). We stop again at Masons Cafe to dry out ring out and a cup of tea.

Bit of a day

Toms statement of the day your making a bit of a fuss about all this as I empty my boots for the second time.
