Tunnels and Pagodas

Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Up early, which wasn't as difficult as it might have been as we haven't yet adjusted our body clocks. Marvellous breakfast in the hotel.
Set off in the coach and went to see the Cuchi tunnels . This is the largest tunnel network used by the Viet Cong in the war. Our guide had a very strong accent which meant I missed a lot of what he said. In addition, he seemed to slant everything in favour of the VC, which was confirmed by our normal guide. I guess history always gets rewritten by the winning side.
Then we went almost to the Cambodia border to visit the Cao Dai pagoda. It is a blend of the Dao and Confucianism and Buddhism and Christian religions. It's called the Cocktail Religion, but they don't like that. A very impressive Temple. There was a service going on inside, but the worshippers just seemed to be sitting there, leaning forward every time the bell tolled. We had to take our shoes off to go in.
Then to a nearby restaurant for lunch before a 3 hour drive back to the hotel.
We're all going out to dinner just now, as if I need any more to eat!
