A tower too high

Eco Village Mission Beach, Queensland, Australia
It was another decent drive the next day - to Mission Beach via some waterfalls, Ravenshoe, Tully Gorge, some more waterfalls, the beautiful Atherton Tablelands and Mamu Rainforest Canopy Walk.
As we were getting ready to go a frill neck lizard came racing towards me. I haven’t ever seen one running up on its back legs. It was very cool.
It wasn’t far to the Atherton Tablelands. Just outside of Ravenshoe we walked down to Millstream Falls near. Ravenshoe itself is a really pretty little town. We called into the bakery for an early lunch and both had chilli pies. They were HOT.
We then drove to Tully Gorge. It’s a long and narrow but pretty drive to the carpark above the falls. The falls were dry but we did the however many km walk to the lake above the falls.
Ravenshoe is famous/infamous for its windfarm. Lots of opposition to them but they ARE the way of the future. I doubt the cows on the gorgeous green farmland around the wind turbines could care less about what’s spinning above them.
There’s a waterfall loop but it was 12km that we didn’t feel like travelling so we stopped at the one closest to the highway - Millaa Millaa Falls - and then continued on towards the coast.
We got to the Mamu Skywalk MAMU | Rainforest Canopy Walkway with less than 45 minutes until closing (3.30pm close). Amazing elevated walk that ends with a spindly tower that was all Al’s. There wasn’t a chance I could have gone up it. I’d like to go back and just sit and listen to the sounds of the forest - the trees and birds and insects. Beautiful place and well worth a visit.
It was still a way to Mission Beach and we didn’t pull in until 5ish. We stayed at Eco Village Resort https://www.ecovillage.com.au/ and booked a king spa room. It followed the room theme so far - ginormous.
It’s a beautiful resort where sadly the beachfront bar/restaurant is closed. We had a swim in the very warm pool where we struck up conversation with some people who it bizarrely turned out went to the same Gold Coast highschool as me, just a few years earlier. Then we wandered down to North Mission Beach village and ate at the pub. I think it was maybe a 20 minute walk. Really poorly lit path between the resort at the very northern end of Norther Mission Beach into the little village. Gazillions of cane toads hopping around you constantly. Yuck!
