Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, United States
Shanna had to work again today so we went on a hike to Nymph, Dream and Emerald Lakes where she had already been with Sandra and Jeremy a couple weeks earlier. The hike was again in the Bear Lake area where we started by climbing 225 feet in ½ miles to the Nymph Lake. We paused here to rest for about 10 minutes enjoying the view of lily pads floating in the water and getting the energy to push on to Dream Lake. Dream Lake was another 0.6 miles with an elevation gain of another 200 feet. This was a beautiful lake nestled between two mountains with many trout swimming in it. It was a great spot to again rest and have a little lunch before we headed to the finally lake on this trail. Emerald Lake was another 0.7 miles with and elevation gain of 180 feet again it was a beautiful lake surround by snowcapped mountains where you could even throw a snowball if you wanted to. It took us about 2 hours to get to the end of this hike and then about an hour to come back down with the downward climb being much easier. We then took the long hike of 257 feet to Bear Lake which we could have walked all the way around but decided we had done enough for that day. When we got back to the YMCA Fred needed to take a nap as he didn't sleep good the night before and Stacey and I went to the Craft Center to make some necklaces and earrings with Shanna and found my sister Linda also there doing the same thing. When Shanna got off work we went into town for pizza and Poppy’s and then did a little souvenir shopping for the girls.

Just read your latest thee entries and it sounds like you are having a wonderful time. The pictures of the hot air ballons are beautiful! The hike sounded exhausting, but it too looked like it was terrific. We are getting ready for MN and are going to surprise the kids with a quick stop at the mall of America! We finally, after 17 days, have our luggage back!...just in time to re-pack it all! Keep having fun and have safe travels!!!
