Olympic National Park, Washington, United States
Today we started the day by driving around Forks, WA for a while taking pictures of significant places from the Twilight books & movies for the girls. After this we head for LaPush another town from the series. We spent some time at a beautiful beach where Belle and some of the other characters from Twilight hung out at times. We them headed for Realto Beach for another wonderful view of the ocean beaches (today's views were better than yeaterday as the weather was sunny and clear). The days seem to go very fast as it was already early afternoon and we still had a lot more to see. We headed for Hurricane Ridge Road in Olympic National Park via the town of Port Angeles where we stopped at a Jiffy (very slow) Lube to have the oil changed after having put 3500 miles on during this trip already. Finally we were on our way to Hurrican Ridge stopping for a quick overview of Cresent Lake on our way. When we got to Hurricane Ridge we were amazed at the beautiful view of the Olympic Mountain Range at the visitors center. We then climbed to Sunrise Point which was a very steep and scary climb at times for me given my fear of steep desents but I made it both ways with Fred's help. When we got to the top of Sunrise point we could not believe the even more awesome panoramic view of the mountains and valleys. What a wonderful God we have who made such a wonderful world for us to enjoy. We also walked a short path to a meadow area to see many different varieties of wildflowers. There are many wild animals who generally roam this area but all we saw were deer, however they almost came close enough to be petted. We then headed back to Port Angeles where we spent the night at the Port Angeles Inn so we would be close to the ferry in the morning as we would be heading for Victoria, BC.
