A welcome day to sleep in as the tour we had planned on taking would return ½ hour after our bus was to leave for Denali National Park, the next stop on our trip. We walked around some trails near the lodge hoping to catch a view of Mt. McKinley but it was just too rainy of a day. We also watched a slide show of the area and just had a relaxing morning while we waited for our bus. After a 2 ½ hour bus ride we checked into our lodge room at Denali Princess Lodge and got ready for our jet boat ride and gold panning tour. We had hoped to see some wildlife on this tour but we didn't but it was still a beautiful ride and an interesting, informative tour. It ended with us all having a chance to pan for gold with everyone finding some small flecks (what a surprise :o)
