We are safe and well in Ireland but have very limited access to the internet at present. We have heard about the earthquake and trust everyone is ok. We understand Raewyn is fine in Christchurch but we hope to sort out some contact with her.
We hope to find an internet cafe soon to resume normal services with our blog.
Our phone is on the blink at present but we will check our emails again ASAP.

Hope adventures in Ireland are going well!
NZ is still in one piece despite the last 24 hours. We didn't even feel the earthquake but many others did in Nelson. Our rental house (in Ilam) had damage to the chimney so minimal really compared to others. All CHCH people we talked to were without power and water for some of the day and badly 'shaken' of course. Check out info on stuff.co.nz Just as well it was at 4.30 am as people not out and about on the streets and there were mostly minor injuries but very frightening for many all the same and lots of structural damage to many buildings.
