Nothin' much doin'

Ballymacaw, County Waterford, Ireland
We woke to misty rain and had a slow start to the day. We had left the house with little food in it so needed to stock up.

On the way we called into the Hertz office at the airport which John found frustrating . The man at the counter was very chatty which was nice for the person he was dealing with but a pain for those in the queue. He didn’t have any bulbs in stock but gave vague directions to the local car firm. We found a shopping centre that Tony had mentioned and had pancakes for a late breakfast before buying some food. Then we tried unsuccessfully to find the car firm. A return visit found the Hertz office unmanned so we came home cross as we had wasted about an hour.

After lunch we sat and enjoyed the sun which was out for a couple of hours. We managed to find the car firm having had clear instructions from a garage and they gave us coffee while they sorted the bulb. We didn’t even have to pay as they will bill Hertz direct.

We spent the rest of the afternoon sorting out cruise paperwork, banking and having a chat to Tony and Nuala. They would be keen to work in NZ for a year or so and asked us about this. They usually train to Dublin but checked out the Park and Ride for us. It was raining again so a good day to do housekeeping things. We then came back to cook tea. We had paid $4 each for lamb chops but they were delicious.
