The final fling

Vancouver International Airport, British Columbia, Canada
We had a sleep in until after 8am and then finalised the pack up of the studio and put our bags outside. Then we took the familiar bus to connect with another to go to Stanley Park. We had decided a walk here would be low key, give us exercise and also a couple of caches.
Part of the street was closed so the bus did a detour but we were in no hurry. We decided to walk around part of the seawall and it was busy with other walkers and also cyclists. One group of cyclists were on an escorted cycle trip and we saw them at a couple of places being told about the area. Parts I remembered from our previous visit, including the yacht club, the naval area, the totem poles and the 9pm gun. However, we went a bit further this time and saw the main viewpoint for the various harbour areas.
We were looking for a cache on a side track when I spotted people approaching on the track. We were on the path looking at phones when a man offered assistance. He was a keen walker and also loved the Dolomites in Italy so we had a brief chat about that. Then I asked for a recommendation for a lunch venue and he made a good suggestion. We know it was good as we headed there and enjoyed our lunch.
We had time for a short wander after lunch before we picked up the bus. This proved a bit of a saga as this bus did not go as far as we hoped so we ended up with a change and also a delay. This continued as the Main St was still blocked and now we found why. Today was Vancouver Mural Day and it also included some market stalls. However, we were back in good time to call for a taxi and were at the airport with plenty of time to have a light meal and wander around the area.
All the formalities went quickly and smoothly and we boarded our plane for home on time and with minimal fuss.
