Wednesday morning we took a taxi to the airport and caught our 10 am Volotea flight back to Bari, where we had booked an airport BnB for (most of) the night to catch our stupid-o'clock-in-the-morning (6am) Air Canada flight to Toronto (with a change and 4 1/2 hour layover in Munich). We did have a couple of good meals (pasta and pizza of course) just down the street at Dei Principi Restaurant before an early night to get up at 3am. And then our booked taxi didn't show up and we had to hike down the street with our bags to a "real hotel" (next door to where we ate) where they let us use their airport shuttle that was just leaving (for a fee of course). Anyway everything worked out OK, but it was a very long, and somewhat stressful, day--we had been up for 24 hours by the time we went to bed at home at 9pm. All of the flights on the way home were delayed by about an hour, but we weren't tight for time on any of them so that didn't really matter. And despite minor delays, all of our flights on the trip between Bari-Corfu-Kefalonia-Zakynthos-Bari went smoothly, despite the less than stellar reputations of Sky Express and Volotea, which had worried me a bit. As an aside, Munich Airport is quite a zoo--glad we didn't have a tight connection. Saw dozens of people sprinting through the terminals to get to their flights at far-flung gates--there is a train between different sections of "Terminal 2".
Anyway, the trip overall was really great! Lots of wonderful food and drink, some incredible sights, some amazing beaches, the weather was good, all of our accomodations were as expected and in great locations, and all of the places we stayed were very different and very interesting. But it's good to be home--and the weather in Toronto is great too!

Wonderful pics and commentary. You two are truly adventurous world travellers. We did a little bit of adventureizing ourselves this fall and went to Abu Dhabi , Qatar and Azerbaijan to take in the Formula 1 race . Very exciting. See you in BEQUIA. 😎
