Ready to go!

Toronto, Ontario, Canada
OK, we’re almost ready, or at least organized, for our 1 month trip to Belize (with a 2 day side trip to Guatemala). Time has kind of accelerated in the last week or so and it has become a bit of a scramble to get everything done. It didn’t help that last week I had a tooth break off at the root and had to have it pulled. It also didn’t help that we decided to drive several hundred miles down to my sister’s place , near Windsor, and visit with her family and my brother’s family for a couple of days and come back with one day to do all our final packing, etc. Oh, and I was just booking our “puddle jumper” flights from Barbados to Bequia for our annual trip there in March (right after finally booking our last 3 internal flights in Belize). Anyway, it’s not like we haven’t done this before. We have previously done a couple of one-month trips with lots of moving around (Portugal, Newfoundland) as well as a huge 3-month, 7-country Pacific trip:

But still...I think the longer I am retired (and accustomed to doing virtually nothing most days), the more stress inducing any kind of activity is. Fortunately, our first stop in Belize is Caye Caulker, whose official motto, strictly adhered to, is “GO SLOW!”.   This is a place with sand roads, no cars and a few golf carts and bicycles as far as “traffic”.   We fly out on Wednesday, through Atlanta on Delta, a new experience. Hopefully we can find our connecting flight.   The trip should be a fun ride!
Once again, Carol has decided to do her own blog (her pictures should be better) at:
