I don't want to leave the Maldives!!

Maldives, Maldives
Today, our final full day, was pretty restful.

And, it's so gorgeous here that we don't want to leave . Even Tim. Who thought he might hate it and be bored. But no - he is thinking of ways to landscape our yard in a Maldivian theme. I'm just not sure how he can turn the reserve into an aquamarine atoll.

We went to Vila again for breakfast. It's so good there. I've actually had the same thing for 3 mornings it is so good. Will have it tomorrow too I suspect. Eggs Florentine with hollandaise on the side and a hash brown, with orange juice and tea. Thanks.

Tim then went on a scuba dive whilst I read a book on our deck. I had a great time in and out of the spa. Might have got a little sunburned - oops. Tim also had a great time. Not that he is the most experienced diver in the world having only dived in Phuket, Similan Islands and Great Barrier Reef but he did say that this surpassed them all. There were so many fish, and a manta ray at least 3 metres wide. That would scare me to death but Tim seemed to think it was pretty cool .

We had lunch at Rangali Bar and came back to the villa to rest before I had a spa and Tim did some snorkelling. There are 2 spas at the resort. One has a glass floor and is on our island, and the other spa is on the other island. Well...not much choice really - I went for the one with a glass floor which is literally 2 mins walk from our villa. It was really good and it was so nice to be able to look at fish whilst having a massage instead of looking at a floor.

Then it was our final time for free happy hour at Vilu. So good there - and they are more than happy to pump the drinks out for the hour.

We were given a bottle of red wine complimentary so we finished that off on our deck before dinner. We went back to Rangali Bar. It's cool there - with great waiters and live music. I had to have the gnocchi againit was so good . Tim even got the recipe from the chef.

There is some serious couple dressing here. It even extends to family dressing. I have included a couple of photos...thought it was bad enough at breakfast but as it turns out it's also swimwear and when everyone wears life jackets in the shallow water of the lagoon...the couple/family dressing theme continues.

There was just one more thing to do. The walkway between the islands is known to have manta rays visit. We tried a couple of times and whilst last night we saw one it swam off quickly. Tonight though, there was quite a performance...the walkway is 800 metres long, and that manta ray performed for almost 600 metres of it. Amazing! It was about 2.5 metres in width - a beautiful creature. Staff we saw afterwards confirmed we were pretty lucky...it's not the season for the mantas - but the weather has been unseasonal too. We are stoked about that!!

We are not happy about leaving however. This place is incredible. Photos may look good but they really don't do the place justice. It's 360 degree heaven. The staff here are amazing...we are now spoilt for ever.
