And on the way home via Singapore

Singapore, Singapore
We were quite devastated about leaving behind the beautiful Maldives.

We began the day with a champagne breakfast (happy birthday Kylie) at Vilu . Our seaplane checkin was for 10.15 but we were allowed to remain in our villa until confirmation that the plane had departed Male. It was actually 11.35 before it arrived.

It was so sad to leave. The seaplane ride was spectacular - probably saw another 12 resorts. The colours within the atolls are gorgeous.

It was a very close connection for us for our Singapore Airlines flight as we arrived with less than hour to departure and were still waiting on bags to be delivered let alone check in, immigration etc.

I was a bit stressed...but we made it. Thankfully we had a spare seat on the plane so could spread out a little. After losing a few hours with time zones and what became a 5 hour flight with traffic control delays, we arrived in Singapore at 9pm. It was well after 10pm before we arrived at our hotel - the Marina Bay Sands. It's an architectural masterpiece in itself! I had booked the cheapest room on Wotif so was glad to get an upgrade. The rooms are very nice with curtains that open automatically when you place your room key in the slot.

We had a quick look at the Skypark and infinity pool and it was crazy busy up there. Although almost 11pm by now, the pool is full with people taking selfies everywhere. We will get up there again tomorrow but we both hope that they put an awful lot of chlorine in it!

A quick bite to eat downstairs and we are ready for bed - a day exploring Singapore tomorrow!
