We were sad to leave Riga but a new adventure awaits.
We visited a beautiful castle and then headed beachside alongside the Baltic Sea for some free time. Mum and I walked along the beach and enjoyed the sights before meeting back in town for lunch at a restaurant.
There had been some illness on our coach with people progressively succumbing to the flu. I felt fine at the start of lunch...but towards the end of lunch I felt like crap. Before I even acknowledged it, mum asked me if I was ok. Anyway, back on the bus feeling poorly and then we arrived in Estonia.
I wasn’t necessarily planning on returning trips to Estonia hence I dosed up on a lot of drugs to head to Olde Hansa 14th century restaurant for an enjoyable medieval evening. Even though I was sick, this was a very memorable night and would heartily recommend.
The next morning, we had an included tour of Tallin. It’s a beautiful place but I was well and truly under the influence of flu by now. Thankfully our hotel was only a 15 minute walk from the Old Town so after this tour I walked back to the hotel and slept for the rest of the afternoon. Mum and Barb had booked an afternoon museum tour (thankfully I did not) so off they went on this tour!
That night was luckily an included dinner at the hotel so I had a bit to eat and went to bed! By this stage, Barb was also getting sick (about 75% of the bus was sick by now).
