We arrived in Ljubljana late on Friday evening in a white out blizzard.
There was snow everywhere and the plane had to cirlce for an hour whilst they cleared the runway and we could land
.
We caught a cab to our amazing hotel, which was listed as 4 star and definatley worth the money we paid.
The hotel was great, lovely helpful staff, great setting in pine forest, everything covered in snow and lit up at night.
The room is great.
We had some food in the big buffet self service restaurant and headed into the centre in the free transport that the hotel offered.
The Hotel was located on the edge of the capital around 3km from the main sights in the centre, but a free transport service was offered there and back.
In the city we walked down to the old town from the centre and did a spot of bar hopping along the riverside.
It was very cold and icy, with snow around 1 foot deep.
The bars were great, all very different. The drinks are not very cheap unless you buy local wine which is great for me. They dont give you very big glasses but at 1 euro a go, many can be had!
We ended up in a tiny local bar by the famous church there and met a man that played in the Slovenian philharmonic orchestra. He invited us to see the show he was playing in the next day.
We then proceeded to get very drunk with him, the bar owner...'Boris the Blade' (not Rade Serebedijca), a crazy bar girl and some other locals.
Jason ended up giving out a lot of man love in the form of hugging everyone, a minor snowball fight and some slipping about later and we got a taxi back to hotel at 3am.
