So the plan was to take off from Taipei at 5pm, land in Shanghai at 7pm, take the subway and be at the hostel by 9pm. Well that was a great plan. It all started to go wrong when the time of take off was moved to 6pm. We boarded and where on the tarmac ready for take off (about on time) when....back to the gate....mechanical problem. Argh.....this is not good news. I was not too worry until the mum and daughter sat next to me informed me that the last subway was at 9pm. WTF! Who had the great idea to do that? Well we finally took off at 8pm. Nothing I can do about it. Let's have a good flight. Obviously when we landed they had no gate for us anymore so we had to wait until they found a bus for us. OMG! It's cold here! 1°C....welcome to winter. Custom was easy, I got my luggage and got cash. The two women told me I could take one of the late night bus. When I reached the bus stand it felt a bit like I was back in India except that no one spoke english. I somehow figured out I had to take bus 5. When the bus arrived everyone ran to it, me too. I just got on it, but no seat. The women collecting the money told me to get off at People's square. So after about 1h standing I got off at the square. It is not too far from my hostel but it's still too far to walk at that time of the night. Stopping a taxi took way longer than it should in such a cold night. When I finally managed to stop one I was really glad I could show him the address of my hostel in chinese. The two women in the plane wrote it down for me. I think it would have been very hard for me to try to explain it to a taxi driver. Anyway I finally reached my hostel after midnight. Everyone in my dorm was already in bed and sleeping so I had to be as silent as possible. I was exhausted so I just quickly took a shower and went to bed. Tomorrow I have a huge city to explore!



Donc le plan était de décoller de Taipei à 17h, d'atterrir à Shanghai à 19h, de prendre le métro et d'arriver à l'auberge vers 21h . Bon ça c'était le plan. Tout a commencé à aller de travers quand mon vol a été décalé d'1h. Jusque là rien de dramatique, on a embarqué et on était prêt à décoller vers 18h. Seulement voilà, on n'a pas décollé pour cause de problèmes mécaniques, retour à la porte d'embarquement. Je n'étais pas trop inquiète jusqu'à ce que les deux femmes (mère et fille) assises à côté de moi ne m’informent que le métro s'arrête à 21h. Mais qui a eu une idée pareille! Enfin, je ne peux pas y faire grand chose. On a finalement décollé à 20h, trop tard pour le métro. Le vol c'est bien passé, c'est déjà ça, par contre à l'arrivée il n'y avait pas de porte pour nous donc on a dû attendre qu'on nous trouve un bus. En sortant de l'avion je me suis pris une claque, il caille ici! Il fait 1°C. La douane a été vite passée et les deux femmes m’ont indiqué où aller pour prendre le bus de nuit. En arrivant à l'arrêt de bus j'ai eu vaguement l'impression d'être de retour en Inde sauf que personne ne parle anglais. Ça a été la galère mais j'ai réussi à comprendre qu'il me fallait prendre le bus 5. Quand il est arrivé tout le monde s'est rué dedans et moi aussi! Non mais! J'ai juste réussi à monter, il n'y avait plus de place assise donc j'ai dû rester debout dans l'allée centrale. La dame qui collecte les sous m'a fait savoir qu'il me faudrait descendre à People's square. OK. On y est arrivé environ 1h plus tard. Et là je me retrouve dans le rue, au milieu de Shanghai, pas très loin de mon auberge mais trop loin pour marcher surtout à cette heure-ci et avec ce froid. Donc j'ai patiemment attendu un taxi. J'étais bien contente que les deux femmes m'aient écrit l'adresse de mon auberge en chinois pour que je puisse montrer au chauffeur. Je ne crois pas que j'aurais eu la force d'expliquer... je suis finalement arrivée après minuit. Tout le monde dans mon dortoir était déjà endormi donc il a fallu que je sois le plus silencieuse possible. J'ai pris une douche vite fait et hop au lit, j'ai une grande ville à explorer demain!
