South to the Alps

Rottenbuch, Bavaria, Germany
Rain all night, woke up to rain so we decided to move south in search of the sun.... and the weather is wonderful, 23deg, blue skies & sunshine all the way down the Romantic Road and onwards to our site in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps at a small place called Rottenbuch.

It is Terrassen Camping am Richterbichl, a very nice site just outside the village. Most of the terraces are filled with long stay/permanent caravans but we were on the lowest one close to the facilities and restaurant in Dutch corner, and seem to be the only GB outfit here, just as we were on the last site - but at least most of the Dutch speak good English. My German is Google translate-led & has produced some interesting conversations....when trying to order bread from the campsite, Herr Owner was (I think) telling me about the different types of loaf. I understood the "dark" and "rolls" but the nice looking one was apparently "soapy water bread". We had baguette.

After setting up and chatting with our neighbours, we tried out our new ebikes bikes round the site and across the road for a short way - it seems there are cycle ways everywhere so we're looking forward to going further as long as the weather plays ball. Fingers crossed!
