Exploring the locality

Bled, Slovenia
Sadly yet another wet day, but we did get short dry periods between the showers. We had another chilled day, starting with a trip to Radovlijca, a larger town not far away, to do some shopping. There was a huge queue of traffic coming into Bled so we decided to return over the hills – a pretty route through farming areas and little villages on what was virtually a single track road/forest track/road again, but at least it bypassed all the traffic.
Whilst driving back I spotted a lovely sight: a bride and her bridal party being rowed across the lake for a wedding in the island Church of the Assumption. What a great setting, but what a shame it was raining, poor things.

The afternoon was spent chilling and reading, then we walked down to the camp restaurant by the lakeside to eat – a very nice meal washed down with a mug of the local brew, Union beer. It was a lovely evening and stand-up paddlers were gliding their way across the lake, which looked so picturesque I had to take more pictures.....I fear this will be a constant feature of my posts!
