A quiet day

Punta Sabbioni, Veneto, Italy
We’ve done a lot recently so we had a very quiet day today, starting with a very lazy get-up; we went for a bike ride to explore the neighbourhood starting with the 2km to the nearest beach, set next to a breakwater with observation tower. We stopped there for lunch but then had to come straight back as R's battery packed up; ebikes are pretty heavy to ride without assistance plus there was a strong headwind, so we took it in turns to ride it back to camp. Nothing wrong with the bike - we reckon it hadn't charged properly last time :(

The landscape here is really quite flat & featureless, nothing like any we've seen so far, even in Holland; its flat as far as the eye can see in any direction, with just a tiny bit of interest in the skyline of Venice way off in the distance or a passing cruise ship - but that's not why we're here.

We parked the bikes & started chatting to a passing British couple doing their Campsite Perambulation To Spot The Different Nationalities By Looking At Outfits (required activity by caravanners of a certain age). 2 hours later they left our awning after drinks - very nice people from Bournemouth :) We strolled down to Reception to buy our boat passes for the trip to Venice tomorrow, had tea & read our books....like I said, a very quiet day!
