AWACS instead of Vulcans

Coleby, England, United Kingdom
Years ago when we stayed with Beth and Barry in Coleby, we witnessed a flight of Vulcan bombers taking off - something very special at the time. The Vulcans are no more, but the RAF airfield is now used by AWACS. Two of these came in just before sunset, but so low and fast we had no time to take a photo. We took time in the afternoon to walk around the village, finding some wildlife, and some not-so-wild life.
The next day we headed south through Abingdon, having lunch with Janet on the way through to the south coast, to be ready to take delivery of the Boomer .
