Krokom, Jamtland County, Sweden
Drove from Trangsviken to Ostersund. Went to Jamtli Historieland open air museum. Dodged the rain to see goat and cow cheese and milk prepared, bought fresh flat bread (not as good as yesterday's) and heard a lot of the local history from "actors" in authentic dress. Finally decided to go inside when it hailed!!
So we went in to the museum - Sami, Viking, and more recent history
. Highlight was the Overhogdal Viking tapestry, (800-1100 AD) thought to pre-date the Bayeux tapestry. Beautiful. Wish we had had a second day to absorb all of the museum exhibits.
Home to an Aussie Bar BQ arranged by Rob and Rob, but including moose steak. Delicious.
