Into Norway again.

Trondheim, Sor-Trondelag, Norway
Today we were all interviewed by a journalist from Ostersund, arranged by Julia. Lots of embarrassing photos, including me in the shower and Robyn in her towel and shower cap!

Then we drove west . Stopped at spectacular waterfall at Ristafallet, next to a great camp site, should we ever need it again.

Then on to Norway, where the landscape is immediately more rugged, mountainous and deeply forested.

We stopped at Trondheim. Stayed with Oddlaug, sister of our Brisbane friends Ingunn and Ian Schrimshaw, who were visiting. Ian took us on a mini city tour of Trondheim - the magnificent Nidaros cathedral, (the world's northernmost cathedral, where St/King Olav was buried in 1030). Truly beautiful in its simplicity. Unfortunately, no photography allowed.

Then the old city and wharves (Bryggene), old city bridges, royal palace made of wood (Stiftsgarden). Walked the markets (celebrating summer) and bought local cheese and moose salami, passed by the statue of the founder of the city, Olav I Tryggvason (in 997,) and then dinner with Ingunn, Ian, and Rob and Rob who had found free camping nearby. John even fitted in a ( very expensive) hair cut and beard trim but feels normal again now.
