More ferries and thwarted sight seeing.

Brønnøysund, Nordland, Norway
Drove into Namsos. Great for salmon fishing , they say!

Drove up to top of Mt Klompen . Attempted to access WW2 bunkers carved out of rock but nowhere to park. Drove around old town. Parts of this town have been burnt to the ground three times - the last in a bombing raid in 1942 to celebrate Hitler's birthday!

Tried to see Saw Milling Museum - oldest steam driven saw mill in Norway. Despite the guide book advice, that was closed.

Drove on, 2 more ferries, one from Lund to Hofles with a 2 and a half hour wait, then Holm to Vennesund, and finally free camped at a small lake north of Vennesund.

We are trying to stay on the coast/fjords but ferries make it difficult and very expensive.

Great sunny day all day today, such a treat - no rain. Scenery so varied- some lush and green, some rocky and barren. Beautiful fjords all day.

We have looked at the map and are amazed at how far NORTH we will be in a day or two, when we cross the Arctic Circle - level with Southern Greenland or Northern Canada.
