A i Lofoten, North Norway, Norway
The Lofotens Islands are stunning - there are 6 islands in all. We missed out on the two most southerly, (Rost and Vaeroy) landing on Moskenesoy, and then drove from there by bridge and tunnel, across Flakstadoy, Vestvagoy and Austvagoy before crossing back to the mainland. The scenery is craggy, snow topped mountains, fjords, sandy beaches and quaint red buildings of numerous fishing villages.

We passed hundreds of whole fish and fish heads hung to dry over frames of poles 8 feet above ground on every bit of spare open ground at the southern end of the Islands . We explored A i Lofoten, a historic fishing village museum and saw the Stockfish museum in the settlement. You can rent a fisherman's cottage (Robu)) to stay in. Then stopped in Reine for coffee and more photos. Rob had delicious fish soup at 3 pm.

Stopped beside a beach and did a short hike along the coast, watching a guy try and fail to "launch" his kite board. As we had only driven half a day, after a late start, we camped on the edge of the water between the Islands at Vagan. Bit noisy with passing heavy traffic most of the night.
