Alta, North Norway, Norway
Woke to sunshine!!

First we went to the Arctic" Cathedral", built in 1965,( same year as the Sydney Opera House) and truly outstanding .

Then to the Polar Museum, in an 1840s building on the harbour, with exhibits on Amundsen's exploration and trapping /hunting through the years.

Then we went in search of the museum of the Tirpitz, a German WW2 battleship sunk nearby, with a museum in an old bunker. John and Rob explored some guns, etc but the museum itself was closed.

Tromso is a great city, but had far more to see than we could fit in.

Drove on, endless unbelievably beautiful scenery of fjords and mountains and then.....
a reindeer herd, approximately 400 animals, crossing the snow to the side of the road. We stopped and photographed them as they walked and ran across the snow and then across the open ground towards the fjord. There were groups of female and young, and groups of stags. Beautiful to watch.

Drove on to camp overlooking a fjord, besieged by flies - Johanna's Finnish fly netted hats came into their own! Slept well tonight.
