Drove back through Ivalo to do the grocery shopping. Then drove to Napapiiri, Finnish for the Arctic Circle. Absolute contrast to crossing the Arctic Circle in Norway 8 days ago. Huge complex, no snow and so commercial - yuk. But this is where Santa lives and you can pay to have your photo taken with him. Posted cards that will go to Aus. with Santaland post mark!
Left Rob and Rob to go to the Arkticum Museum at Rovaneimi
. Great museum in 2 parts, one of Sami people and their life, up to present day; the other about the Arctic, not just from Scandinavia but from the North Pole in all directions.
While we were there, Rob and Rob had a coup! Santa came out for a break, spied their truck and they got lots of great photos of Santa and Ozzie. "Never seen a vehicle like that at Santaland".
