Lugano and Milan

Milan, Lombardy, Italy
First of August and snow on the mountain tops again!

Drove to Lugano through very heavy rain, spoiling the view of spectacular mountains as we approached the San Bernadino tunnel . Climbed to 1600 metres.

Arrived in Lugano, on the shore of Lake Lugano, still very rainy and not much fun so had lunch and drove out along the lake shore.

Crossed into Italy and on to Milan. Drove to the City Camp site - abysmal. Crowded, not well kept and three thousand Philipino kids here for some sort of religious revival convention. Singing religious songs all afternoon; pop songs, cheering and trumpets all evening. Also had the entertainment provided by a group of about 30 Irish folk on a visit, who looked as if they were going to have a punch up over something, but eventually settled. Lots of stalker talkers, including a young couple from Brissie, 'doing' Europe for 6 months, who gave us some tips for Milan tomorrow.

Irish campers?? We met an extended family group of about 30 in the city camp in Warsaw - loud, abrasive, yelling at the top of their lungs between the vans. After Granny took to the 8 yr old kids with a leather strap - kid's response "FOOK YOU GRANNY!!!"......we decided to move somewhere quieter.
