Alassio, Liguria, Italy
Lazy day, started with gigantic brekkie in hotel dining room 6 floors up overlooking the beach and the sea that was as flat as glass.

Then John and Andrew went to organise the washing at a laundrette while Sara, Emerson and I went shopping! Looked into two churches, including one almost with its feet in the sea . Emerson became very vocal when in the churches - must mean something??

Washing completed, we had lunch and back to the hotel. John was doing some computer stuff for Andrew so we others all went to the beach. A curious arrangement - each hotel or restaurant "owns" a section of beach from the promenade to the near the water's edge. You can walk the water's edge but not sunbake on the beach unless you pay! For 11 Euros each ($16) we got to use the hotel beach, umbrellas, lounges, showers and toilets, beach towel, toys and bucket and spade for Emerson and, of course, could buy from the bar. We all had a quick dip and then sat and relaxed for the afternoon. Emerson enjoyed it all, especially being "buried" in the grey sand.

Back for a shower then shopping again before dinner on the promenade again. This time we decided to have gelato and Grappa at a different place from dinner, and Sara tried Lemoncello liqueur for the first time.
