Happy 36th Anniversary to us! We set off for Switzerland, planning not to meet up, but Sara and Andrew pulled in where we had stopped for morning tea. Skirted Turin, then the spectacular drive up to the Grand St Bernard Tunnel. The entrance is at 1875 metres high, rising through the tunnel to 1918 metres. Quoted to having been the longest road tunnel in the world, at 5.798 km. Having been in Norway, we know better!!!! Equally great drive down the other side and on to Bosingen, near Laupen to stay with Ursula Escher.

Andrew and Sara were already there . Andrew spent 1999 as an AFS exchange student with the Escher family, and we had visited them before, in 2006. Great to see Ursula, although sadly Albert died late last year. Also the lovely 120 year old farmhouse, horses, dog, cat, rabbits, chooks etc. Son Lucas and partner Sabrina and baby Jeannine came for dinner.
